Default Moose Licking Warning!

Well, this is a first for me.....a moose licking warning.

I thought that this part of the warning for potential Darwin recipients was humorous.....lol.

"Do not attempt to push moose away from your vehicle while on foot," the warning reads.

https://www.theweathernetwork.com/ne...rovince/77003/

Thursday, December 15, 2016, 3:01 PM - Only in Canada would there be a car-licking moose warning.

Alberta Parks issued the warning for Chester Lake and Burstall pass trailhead parking lots in Kananaskis, Alberta.

Officials recommend motorists to keep at least 30 metres away from any moose, and to sound a car horn or use a remote door alarm to deter the animals.

"Do not attempt to push moose away from your vehicle while on foot," the warning reads.

Many animals, including moose, have a natural need for salt in order to maintain good health and if there is no natural source available, they will search elsewhere for replenishment.

The warning remains in place until further notice.

While it is unclear exactly how many car-licking incidents have been reported in 2016, Alberta Parks says this is something that happens every year during the wintertime.

The Mulie doe's & their young one's that live on the Sylvan Lake G&CC property hop the fence into our condo complex and lick away, too.

Funny to see ...

Yep - saw two cow/calf pairs, in two different parking lots, licking cars in Lougheed Park a couple of weeks ago.

Nearly fell of my chair laughing...not that it's an unknown occurrence, but that they had to warn people about it. I can just see some tourist walking up to a moose....."NO!! Bad horse! You move now!!" *PUNT*

A year ago out in Kananaskis i saw a herd of sheep on the side of the road, as soon as i stopped to take a couple pictures they all walked over and started licking salt off my truck. I drove 100 yards down the road and stopped to try a picture and right away they came over and resumed licking my truck. Was pretty funny to watch.

I think licking a moose is just plain weird. But hey whatever floats your boat.

First time we hunted this piece of land we were going to go back to the truck for lunch but we could not see the truck from the high ground we were on until the herd of cattle dispersed. Man oh man did they do a number on my buddy's truck, 2 mirrors rubbed off and a really streaky wash job.

Wife suggested, they could just put out some salt blocks for the moose.
