Default 202 Antlerless Mule deer

I put in for the draw with my Dad. Will probably go down in the next handful of weeks for permission. Seeing as it is a large zone does anyone have a suggestion on which portion I should focus my efforts on for permission? It's a very large zone and covering the whole thing is just not feasible.

Thank you for your time

last year they had many tags in that zone that were not filled.
Must be a lot of mule deer that no one wants because of that decease .

Yeah, 25% of tags filled. I m not concerned with the CWD. I figure a good % of tags go I filled because people don't like up permission or get away from the roads

Sister owns a lot of land up there ,ever year and every year i hunt it I can count around 4 trucks that will just drive on the land and hunt it like they own it. The part that gets me I normally park and walk in before the sun comes up and they just wip in and spoil the hunt.

That's a dick move. Things like this are what ruins it for proper ethical hunters.

I live in 202 and I would sure like to see the antlerless WT and MD closed for a couple years until the numbers have a chance to come back up.
I think because of CWD though they will keep handing out tags.
You can still fill a tag but the numbers are way down.

They're there, numbers are still quite a bit lower than in the past, they are spread out, you'll find them in more traditional mulie habitat. The harsh winters seem to have pushed whitetail and mulie more into their respective core habitats so there isn't as much overlap as previous. I talked to F&W last year and they have a target deer population of 1/sq km because of chronic wasting disease so be aware of that.

Numbers are way down, nothing like they used to be. I too wish they would close it down for a few years.

Anytime I hive permission on my land, I make it clear there are no does to be shot on my land. It is a sad state in this zone with the amount of deer versus hunters. We sat on a hill overlooking our land during the hunting season and was shocked at the amount of hunters. It almost made me feel like posting my land just so the deer had a safe place to go. You will be able to find does but you will probably be dissapointed in the hunter traffic
