FMJ's actually kill quite well on coyotes, the problem s they often turn and tear fur up rally badly depending on what the hit.
I don't think have had the die an slower with a FMJ than wit varmint bullet , a bad hit wit either s still a bad hit!
I hold malc against an predator BTW, it's not in my nature - it is in my nature to shoot them whenever I get the opportunity , though

Cat you either need to proof read your posts or I need to learn how to read cataneese.

I shot one tonight, and was right next to the pasture with 200+ head of cattle who are, you guessed it... Calving as I type this.

The owner has shot 5 coyotes in the last 2-3 weeks, 3 inside the pens eating afterbirth...

He doesn't care how the coyotes die, as long as they're dead.

I picked up some 243 Hornady 243 58gr. Varmit rounds. They group well with my gun. I will see how they work this weekend, Thorsby coyote contest this weekend.

I've farmed and lost calves to coyotes. Seen magpies pick out eyes of sick/dying animals as well. My opinion, but does cruelty require cruelty? They are only doing what they've done forever, they're animals, none of our morals or ethics. Do you believe gut shooting a coyote will make the others stop? If so you're attributing a lot of personification to them and if so your torturing them. Pretty dark (sociopath) person believes torturing animals is okay.

Default 243 is great. 204 is awesome

I too shoot all 4 calibres for coyotes. 204 243 223 22-50. I shoot 55 gr bullets in all but the 204. It shoot the 32 and 35gr bullets like a Lazer. The 204 is the fastest of the bunch and for that reason I would choose it for the running shots. The 204 is a VTR in Rem 700 and holds 7 rounds with 1 in the chamber which is also a bonus. 🍻
