There's that, too. It has worked for me! Saves me a trip back to the bush, too.
I did a gutless on a bull elk on my place because it was down in some thick bush I couldn't get the tractor down too easily and it attracted a young cougar to take up residence. We also processed five deer and I let a couple of buddies dump 3 more deer carcasses and one moose carcass. I noticed fairly quickly the deer left for the winter and the elk were not wintering on my place as they usually do. I have always dumped the leftover hides and carcasses on my place for nature to clean up and will continue too in the future.

In the spring I was checking fence and came across a dead cougar. I had read that FW was doing a study on young cougar deaths so I called them and they came out and did an autopsy on the cougar. FW determined the cougar had likely starved to death. Here is a picture post-autopsy.

It was unfortunate that the cougar died but I don't think it was the result of dumping carcasses. The young cougar was likely trying to establish its own territory and wasn't able to make enough kills to remain healthy.

The way some vids show the gutless method, no way all edible meat gets removed.
A guy would need 3-4 hrs to get all rib meat, flank, neck meat off properly.
At least it would take me that long to do properly.

I always take the ribs as a rack of ribs but Do you actually have to recover the rib meat? If gutless is legal I do t see how you would be able to recover the rib meat very easily

I live in the country and have no problem with hides, bones and stuff . I get really ****ed at the garbage bags and tarps some guys throw in the ditch. It seams to happen a lot around Dewinton, and Priddis. Most Farmers don't care about the animal parts . Just the thrash that comes with a few Idiots .

most these animals die off in the bush somewhere, the original poster would like you NOT to dump the scraps at the end of his laneway. Also ticks off the antis, so he's just asking for a little courtesy when you do your post season dump.
