Whats the deal with the fly bys?

Labour Day Classic between Calgary and Edmonton at McMahon Stadium. Very deafening indeed.

Two F-18's , about 500ft above ground, probably on route to the labour day classic.

It was awesome to see them so close off my parents balcony, while having lunch....kids thought it was too cool.

We're about a km from the stadium.
