Horses emit more CO2's than a car lol

http://oppositelock.kinja.com/co2-em...ion-1736008830

"According to the EPA, the average american car emits 411 gr CO2 per mile.
So a horse emits more CO2 than a car, is about 10x slower, can only carry two people, and will also emit CO2 at idle, as you can’t turn it off (well you can, but it’s been known to be permanent)"

Great find. Also includes Manitoba and is especially interesting when you grew up in 8-10 of the towns available for viewing in the 50's and 60's.

Great find and thanks for putting this up. Wife and I just looked at a number of the towns our families grew up in a long time back. Great to see and remember the past.

In Lundbreck there is a picture of the Windsor hotel. There is a walkway out the back to a two story outhouse. I believe the outhouse is now in Calgary at Heritage park. Many of the buildings in the pictures of the Crowsnest Pass are still being utilized.

Awesome photos, can't even imagine how good the hunting was in Alberta in the early 1900!

Great link....I'm old enough to recognize the old Provost Hotel, before it burned. Drank more than a couple of tall, cool ones there!
As to the hunting, I've been told whitetails didn't come into the area until the '50's.

In North America, game populations are way better now than in the early 1900's. In Alberta, certainly we have more WT deer than then, not sure about moose/elk.

Very true on the WT way more now, as for the moose and elk, way less.

A very good friend of mine who is in his 90's now told me he stopped hunting elk and moose in his 50's because the hunting was no where near as good as it was back in the 40" through to the 60's.

Makes you think.

Will be some time spent on that site. Rimbey still looks as exciting, today.
