Default Why?

Hi Everyone,

Thought I would share a video I made a while back. I wasn't sure about it when I made it, but it ended up on the Friday Fly Fishing Film Festival on Orvis.com. Its a visual poem about why we Fly Fish. Hope you enjoy it!

It is a great video. That is fantastic that it ended up as part of the film festival.

The video is great. It deserves recognition. However, even though I feel I get to the same emotional end-point, my path is very different.

I like fly fishing because I feel it favours the practical and the patient. My analogy is that fly fishing is like handwriting. At the end of the day, it is just letters on paper, but everyone's preference in pen, how they hold it, and how it looks is very different from person to person.

For the record, I have crazy messy handwriting, but it was enough to get me through 12 years of post-secondary education. It means very little to other people, but it obviously means something to me.

EDIT: Getting up at 4h30 is crazy talk. To me, it is all about the evenings, not the mornings.

Default Good Analogy

I like the handwriting analogy! Yes mornings aren't for everyone...I'm a morning person and I like getting to the river before everyone else...I'm way too competitive I think HA HA!

Very nice video - I like the part about each cast in a new opportunity (or something said like that). I also like a little bit of sun on my neck - seemed a little cold out in that video.
