The claim is that in most cases it will be a wash.
So let's wait till it actually comes into effect before we claim doom and gloom.
Can't have that kind of thinking around here! It gets the monkeys all worked up!

Default As painful as this will be for everybody

I'm looking forward to the smug little socialists getting a dose of cold hard reality. This is what you wanted, now own it.
It will be especially gratifying once they start whining that "this isn't fair, we thought the carbon tax only applied to other people."
It's only a matter of time.

And for those that are accepting the current governments published economic impact studies

Default Or you could go with the miracle solution via Trudeau/Notley

You get yourself a unicorn and hook up it's backside to your furnace and also put an extension cord to it's pecker. Then you just feed it gum drops and rainbows and and self-satisfied thoughts about saving the climate and all of your heat and electricity worries are gone. The unicorns miracle farts will heat your home and it's ejaculate will provide all the electricity you need.

Should this not read 6/10 get to take money from their friends, relatives and Neighbours to offset costs that all 10 incur

The government is going to receive my money and return it in full with interest? and help create jobs while we save the environment?! Why weren't we able to come up with this before?

Some people forget that the cost of all goods will be going up as companies try to make up for the tax. Yes lots will get rebates for some of the tax but they won't get rebates for the increased cost of groceries, parts etc.

Pssst, don't confuse the issue with facts, it messes with their "feels".

Well after these responses I think that whatever the outcome will be, most if not all of us, are not well informed enough on the impact of this policy!

That in and of itself makes me nervous about 2017.

So you actually believe that this govt will take the political hit to implement a taxation program that, according to your numbers or theirs, will Actually provide the govt with a net=nothing for the majority of households in Alberta??? But cost the govt in votes and in admin wages.

Really????? I have some beautiful really cheap vacation property in Florida for sale. Water front and beach too. Interested????

A simplistic view of this carbon tax will just look at their own direct cost increases (based on govt spin numbers) and think nothing of the cost increases that will be applied to everything they buy and consume. All goods and services will have a carbon tax effect. Prices will go up or else layoffs will happen in businesses. Rents will go up. Food will go up. Many carbon tax costs will be hidden for most.

That's what this govt is banking on. That most people will be too stupid to realize the effect. Matches their current MO and beliefs. Afterall can you blame them???? 40% of voters were gullible enough to believe the absolute lies they spun last election. How's that tax the rich and balance the budget thing working out???

Depending on how much more things cost I will be making some changes to my program only to take it from somewhere else it effects our government of coarse
I wonder if Notley will feel her time and effort was wasted in a couple years when the next elected party wipes almost every trace of her
If Alberta is crazy enough of re elect the NDP I have lost all faith in this province, I didn't vote in the last provincial election and I'm clearly seeing how important it actually is

Hey I was reading this news article today which you may find informative. I think they have an online calculator as well to see exactly how much more you'll be paying.

That is not news, it is propaganda from the NDP being passed off as news from our tax funded broadcaster.

I'm well informed enough to know that this is going to cost me more along with everything else that these Communist handytards are ramming down our throats. Can't wait until they start taxing us for burning wood and methane release on sewage and flatulence…..
