You can always go with a brand name like Otterbox to get the full body protection but I would go with a "no-name" brand off Amazon for half the price and sometimes better durability.

Also, if you decide to purchase a case that covers the screen, and you aren't happy with the touch sensitivity anymore, you can always increase the sensitivity in the settings.

I always have a life proof case on my phones. I like the waterproof one. In the past I wore through the plastic on the slide button and they sent me a new one. The down side is the 11 has a crappy charging port access, probably because they want you to use the wireless charger and headphones.

UAG cases
Urban armour gear best bang for your buck
Then get the glass stick on screen protector, that piece of glass will break before your screen does. Sensitivity no problem, easy to clean. If it cracks peal it off stick on a new one.

Lifeproof for me, with a story as to why.

3 years ago I was out fishing by myself, pulling cranks along a flat for walleye. I was on vacation but it was a busy time with work so I was checking emails while puttering along.

Rod bends over, I put my phone down, grab the rod, and see my iPhone 6 Plus bounce over the side and into the lake. 15 feet of water. I had the presence of mind to drop a waypoint immediately. Release the fish, fly across the lake to our cabin and grab my snorkel stuff. Head out to the waypoint and start trying to dive on the spot. I can get down there, but visibility isn’t great and I can’t stay down long enough on a breath to do a good grid search.

Head back to the cabin and start trying to find scuba gear to rent (I have my Advanced Open Water cert). Find some an hour away but it won’t be available for a couple more hours. Fine. Rent the gear, load into the boat, spot lock on my waypoint. Dive over the side and setup a proper search. Found the phone within 12 feet of where I dropped in, upside down. Flipped it over and the screen lights up. Swam it up to the boat and dried it off. Quickly offloaded all the important info expecting it to die immediately as it had been underwater for 8 hours at 15 feet.

Phone worked for 2 years additional without issue until I retired it last fall.

Lifeproof hands down. Not as bulky as Otterbox. Lost mine two weeks ago on a RZR ride. Fell out. Found it a few kms back on the trail. Two of us ran it over. All good. Dusted it off and good as new. I’ve dunked more than one phone when it’s fallen out of my pocket into water. Completely submersed. Good as new. Paid for themselves I’d say.

Catalyst. I’ve had Otterbox and Lifeproof but so far the Catalyst wins.

I get that your incident was longer under water no doubt. But you can spend 25-35$ on a case to protect just as good as the expensive ones from dropping it and the phone itself will protect from the toilet water drops, walking into the lake with your phone in one pocket, drop in the bathtub, or whatever else mild regularly happens.

If my phone dropped to the bottom of the lake it’s backed up so it can live the rest of its life there I don’t feel a need for a 90$ or more case. Not too many people are going to get scuba equipment to retrieve their phone. I thought that’s a pretty cool story though, almost advertisement worthy for life proof cases.

Yes, but they aren’t dirt and dust proof.

To be waterproof it’s sealed up pretty tight to prevent dust and dirt from entering internals.

Dirt and dust are abrasive. Charging ports are exposed.

The stick on glass protector works well for that. Takes a lot to scratch it and it’ll break or scratch before the phone will. The reason I’ve moved away from life proof or otter box is I’ve had phones crack in the case behind the plastic screen protector.

I use a wallet/case, cuz I always fergit my wallet. It actually protects ether than otter-box an life-proof when I drop it! Water not so much, I have to be careful not to drop it in the boiling potato’s again!

Default iPhone case

I picked up a "SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Pro Series Case" on Amazon. Solid case, I'm confident it'll hold up to some mishandling.

I use Otterbox for my iPhone.

I like that the case and holster will be replaced by Otterbox for the price of shipping a new one to you (about $6 CAD).

I've never tried any others but strongly suggest you compare warranty/replacement when comparing price and how well they perform.

I'm not easy on stuff..........ask my ol'lady she'll tell you I'm "rammy" LOL

My iPhones have hit the floor so many times it's not funny and the last one, an iPhone 5, looked brand new and worked perfectly when I returned it a year or two back to be replaced by the XR I now have (work phones).

I had to replace the holster maybe 7 or 8 times over the years I had the 5 and the case once as the first one wore out. I'm still on my first case and holster for the XR (having said that, I'll probably break the holster tomorrow.......LOL).
