Nice getaway. I can see why you can't wait till December.
What was the problem with the CO?

It wasn't actually an issue with the CO. There are 3 quarters of private land in the middle of my line, that is where the cabin was. They let anyone use if for years, summer and winter and this year they decided to lock it up and put up private property signs, so I wasn't able to use it this year. It actually works out better with my trailer anyway.

SW trappin,
A Sidetrack first....
Did something happen to cause a change in the landowner and Alberta parks agreement?
Is the landowner still allowing public access to/through their property?
Cool ( as in warm) cabin. How was your trapping season?
Very cool cabins Braggadoe.
A friend's trapping cabin in Alaska.

Not my cabin but one I found in my travels. Very remote. We were working near there and had built a ice road for our exploration program , don't think you can make it in there in the summer cept by argo or chopper.

How many have you got on both of your traplines? How many in the Willmore? I like your A Frame style. do you have a loft in it? I still have to figure out how to post pics here...we have three on our line..one main and two small line cabins. Our only access to the far line cabins is by helicopter. We flew in all the building materials to each one. Quite an adventure!! We usually spend two months on the upper end of the line and then finish off at the lower elevation end until wolf season ends.

12x16 luxury wilderness accommodations on 4 TWPs of far North Alberta. The walls are sinking so I guess something newer is due in the next few years. This one is about 30 yrs old or so. The one behind it is 70 or 80 years old, but it only has 2 walls and 10 percent of the roof left. Time to clean up.

cabin
We are also using an old camp shack modified for trapping. Our line cabin is a log cabin built in 2005. Still a couple old log cabins standing built by a trapper from the 60's. Can't get the pics to work...

i'm using 2 stihl 660's. the chain for ripping, that i like is 11 degree's.(bottom chain in the pic below) powerful saws for milling are a must.

not much too the jig.... just a flat square surface.
the mill really shines in bridge construction!

Just got back from spending the weekend putting in a couple of bridges on my trapline. Here are a few photos. The first one is the cabin from a distance as you round the bend.
The next photo is of the cabin front.
Here is the sitting spot around the campfire after a hard day. And believe me, I worked my butt off this weekend.
And a couple of pics of the inside.

Unfortunately no, but I will take some when I'm in next time. Still have to complete one - I need it to be a little wider - and I haven't made up my mind where to put the third one yet. I'm trying to read the minds of beavers... My bridges certainly aren't as extravagant as yours (very nice I might add) but they will do the job for now.
