Go to a pro shop, give them you price range, have them configure the bows to your draw length etc, shoot them, go away have a bite to eat, come back and shoot the ones that just felt right, then make your final decision and get it all kitted out to your liking, will take a day or two.
I did it that way and so did my son with no regrets.
We frequented the place we bought our bows many times for advice etc and passed on the great service we had to others....unfortunately that was many years ago but as mentioned in other posts there seems to be a few reputable places to assist you.
