Windows Movie Maker if you have it, done a few vids and slideshows, pretty easy to use too and you can do some really cool stuff with the program.

Hi Roebag. I'll assume that you are using a PC. Check out http://www.papajohn.org/, almost any Windows PC will have Movie Maker included with it, or you can download it for free from Microsoft. If you are using a Mac, you can make a slideshow with music and Ken Burns effect(pictures move, giving a movie feeling) with IPhoto in minutes.

No, No, No. Waaay too complex. Go to this link and get Microsoft Windows Photostory. Easier to use, program downloads and installs in a matter of minutes and you can create some great quality slideshows.

It is a bit more work but result is better......

Use powerpoint and embeed pictures and song into one slide and then add animations, pictures then come in and out while song plays....

I have done this a few times for weddings etc... able to customize better and add text as well to add word ballons and descriptions!...

powerpoint does work well on a PC.....it all seems so hard once you try it on a mac though. and this is from a PC owner and user.

Well just like the picture you have to drag the song to the story board, if you can see it on there then it maybe muted, right click on the song and see if there is a check mark beside it, if there is, uncheck it.

Is there a way of making the slides go fast enough to be covered by one song

Two options:
1) In the timeline Click on the right side of the clip and drag it to the left (making it smaller)

2) Adjust the settings so the default length of time is more to your liking:
Go to Tools
Options
Advanced
Then adjust the picture duration time.

Option 2 will work for all pictures added after making the changes. Option 1 takes some time as you have to go through each picture and drag it to the duration you want.

If your with shaw you can do it through their photoshare which is very simple, with step by step instructions. Otherwise, try the software that comes with your digital camera.....lol
