Default Alberta Outdoor Coalition

I've just been reading the Winter 2008 issue of the FNAWS Alberta newsletter. In it there is "A Note From the President" that touches on some issues with new parks and their useage designations. Apparently there is talk of possibly a new interprovincial park in conjunction with the BC Government around the Kakwa headwaters with the ultimate goal of having the area declared a World Heritage site. Apparently this possible park (as well as other potential ones) are at a potential risk of no longer allowing traditional activities in them such as - hunting, trapping, and outfitting.

This new group called the Alberta Outdoor Coalition consists of ABA, AFGA, APOS, ATA, SCI, FNAWSAB, AOHVA, AOA, ASA, and the Willmore Wilderness Foundation. This groups intent is to work "directly" with the politicians in letting them know there is no tolerance for this type of situation without meaningful public consultation. Anyone here of this new coalition and what has been happening so far with these proposed or rumoured new parks?
