Jasper!!! Just don't get caught.
Honestly, there are big elk all over the province, you just have to pick an area that has the potential to produce big elk, and then put in your time, LOTS OF TIME.

Not to be a downer or anything but I dont think anyone will post a post for big elk. As mentioned above put in lots of time in the pre-season and be ready for the rut.

Its true, there are big elk all over Alberta, trust me i spent 6 months last year chasing them. The elk are hunted hard though and are really smart, i don't think there are any gimmies out there for bagging a really big bull. Hunt the rut, and don't pass up a big 6x6 just because there might be a bigger one over the next hill.

That's 2 funny, especially since your alias name would imply that you'd already know that. But here goes anyways, try this thread.....

Just look at the draw stats. Any zone that takes 6 or more points is a safe bet. But I guess you already knew that?

IMHO
The BEST place to shoot a XXXL sized bull is
WMU 300
Late season.
But be prepared to wait for a tag
But be prepared to be skunked (This hunt is ALL weather dependant)
But be prepared to pay to access the Birds Eye ranch. (You are paying for the guide AND getting your $$ worth)
But be prepard to pass up lots of nice ones. Go check out the mountain view store, they used to have some HOGS hanging there and from what I understand they were all donated by the same guy.
Lots of buts.
Good luck, when we drew the tag I really think we needed ONE more day of cold weather. You could see the herds getting closer and closer but then it got nice and they went farther and farther.

Legal bull
Kinda off yet on topic...I'd like to know if there is anyone out there that would share information enabling me the opportunity to get a shot at a legal bull...I'm a paraplegic so getting to the elk is a bit of a challenge but not impossible..I've got the machine to get to where they might be located but up to this point haven't had any luck...If someone has some input or even better knows someone with some private land willing to let a guy on would be greatly appreciated..I live in the Spruce Grove area FYI..
Thanks !
