Default Bird dog command words .

We have a dog that likes stocking birds or rabbits in the bush and in tall grass.
Whats is a good command word to get your dog to stay hold on a dog and not flush on the bird .
Yesterday at the dog walk she froze and looked in the push . the minute i said no she jumped in 5 ft and two red head wood peckers that were 4 ft up a tree flew up . Just need to teach her not to flush .
Any tips .

You need more than words. If your dog shows interest in pointing get some birds and a check cord and help the dog get steady to the point. I use the word "steady" instead of "whoa" as "whoa" sounds too much like no. Good luck on your training.

Thats what i had in mind .keep her on a cord . I should take her to a pheasant release site before the season opens and see how she does on some birds that were released the year before .
