Default Long gun registry

Hey, did anyone hear anything recent on how far the bill to remove the long gun registry has made it through the system?

I haven't heard anything recently. The last I heard was that it got past second reading (thanks to a couple NDP and Liberals breaking rank) and now has to make it past committee, etc.

Anyone have anything newer?

The committee can sit for up to 90 days(actual days, not counting weekends etc.)

After that it's back for 3rd reading, and from what I'm hearing on the jungle telegraph Iggy and Taliban Jack are taking serious heat for not whipping the vote on the second reading.

Time to get on those opposition MP's who voted yes to C391 and thank them for allowing democracy to fluorish, and to let the rest of the rural opposition MP's like Linda Duncan know that they will loose next time unless they follow their constituants wishes.

Write Iggy and Jacko and tell them democracy never included part whips.

Lastly lobby the PM to abolish the party whips, they do not become a true democracy.

I think it may be easier to end up with it being a Provincial registry, rather than a Federal one, if the people in Quebec and Ontario get a warm fuzzy feeling from this useless waste of paper fine...let them pay for their own, other than that......let the people decide

We don't need a registry... anybody who has legally owned a firearm in decades has/had a licence. Good enough... (using their logic). Doesn't help for the illegals, but... hammer them hard, no pleas...
