I've just gotten into reloading. My brother has been doing it for years and he suggested using IMR 4350. That's all I've used and it works great through my 300 win. mag. I've only loaded 180 gr Nozler Accubonds and ballistic silvertips. BST worked great with 68 gr of 4350 and the accubonds with 70 gr. Hits like a freight train and cover a 3 shot group with a quarter.

well right now im shooting a 270 WSM with 140 gr bergers and 64.0 gr of IMR 7828 SSC, have a decent group, for three bullets they arent more then an inch appart at 100 yards. pretty decent but i know i can get it better. i have tried different loads with these bullets, from 57.5 gr to 65.5 and so far 64 has worked best. i have also tried playing with the COAL changing it from 2.86 to the minimum of 2.61 and i have had best results at 2.777. reloading is actually a lot of fun, but very time consuming. im hoping to skip a few steps and not have to try every gun powder and every type of bullet in order to find that perfect load.

If you specify the cartridge, and bullet weight, you'll get much more accurate replies.

Like Dick said you will have to specify your cartridge. There are so many powders out there. Some are are designed and work better at a certain volume.

In my 300 Wby I like to use Reloader 25. Its a fairly slow burning powder and works good with this caliber and a long barrel.

oh sorry, im using a 270 WSM with 140 grain bullets. i think im going to stick with the 140 over the 130 because i feel they shoot better in my gun. i have tried the 130 grains a couple times and was more satisfied with the results of the 140 grain

270WSM, and 7828 is a pretty good combination.
Other notable choices could be:
RL22
H4831
Magpro

IMR 4831 gave the highest velocity and best accuracy out of my 300 Win mag and 338 Win mags.

I still have yet to mess with 140's because the results with 130's in the couple rifles I've worked loads up for was so danged good.

The only way to know if they will work in your rifle is spend the time with them and see what they will do.

Good luck

I had great results with Ramshot Magnum too. Great velocity and accuracy. Meters like sand too.

My Tikka 300 WM prefers RL19 to the RL22 which surprised me (shooting 150 and 165 gr TSX's). Buddy's Sako 300 WM works the best with full throttle loads of IMR4831 for his 165 gr Interbonds.
