Windows replacement advice
Does anyone have any reviews for Calgary window replacement companies? Online reviews just seem too good....
Thanks,
A.

I don't know much about the Calgary market but if there's anyone in particular you want info on I'm sure I can find out.

Supreme windows is pretty good, talk to KARl, they are competitive with the pricing, seemed good to deal with.

Salesman liked to bullsh-- but the installers were excellent.
Price was average.

I would recommend you shop carefully for the quality. Lots of low-E glass and argon fill/seal not up to spec these days. Glass only last for 15 years rather then 20-30 years as in the past, probably coming from our favorite Asian high quality-low price country.

I am not sure who does the installs, but if you can find who sells windows made by Innotech, you will be amazed at the quality.
Plus...they are doing styles of windows that nobody else is....tilt and turn windows....awesome European design.

My son has been in the window business for over twenty years. Started on the manufacturing line, worked his way up into service and was service manager for several years. Moved into sales for the past many years. Started his own company with a couple of other guys this year. here is the company link: www.liftrenovations.com
You can contact my son. His name is TJ. here is email: thomas@liftrenovations.com. Just say his dad referred you.

Windows
Get windows that comply with new NAFS ratings and are built for our climate. And never buy the cheapest windows. I do work for a western Canadian manufacturer that offers a complete line off windows and doors Which includes a line of euro style. If any one needs help feel free to pm me and I will help you out.

Durabuilt does a good window but is a bit expensive. When times are tough they can deal though.
When shopping for glass, ask WHOSE GLASS THEY USE and whose Vinyl they use.
The Germans are leaders with AGF Glass and vinyl. Make sure you know what they are quoting as there is cheaper glass and vinyl.
It does not hurt to be very specific on the type of low E coating. Solarban and Low E 60 comes to mind but it has been 7 years since this was important to me.
It should be triple glazed for our climate, and double low E 60 with Argon fill.
All the same, they will all tell you theirs is the best, but then all use the same glass and vinyl from a plant down east. Just saying.
