Default Pre 81 BLR jamming

So i took my rifle to the gunsmith to fix the magazine as it would not stay locked in the rifle. He informed me ots fixed but now the gun jams becausebof to much pressure with bullets in the magazine. When yiu try to load the rifle after putting the magazine in with 2 or 3 bullets it jams, one bullet is ok. He says he doesnt really know why but his guess is i need a new bolt and bolt head. This rifle was made in belgium and he cant find any parts. Anybidea of this is the problem? Or anyone have expierence with this jamming issue?

You need a new gunsmith. These guns will never wear out a bolt and/or bolt head. In fixing your magazine retention issue the smith has screwed something up. Find a smith who is really good with the Browning levers, like Leeper who posts on here occasionally, and send it to them to be fixed properly.

The truth is, he can't figure out its rack and pinion system. There are only a select few that can deal with the BLR as stated above....

Magazines for these are getting hard to find and also quite expensive. If you were able to try a new magazine or one borrowed from a buddy to see if that clears up your feeding issues as the one you currently have may be out of spec. Perhaps your gunsmith altered the feed rails in the mag box to the point that would render it unserviceable. D.H.

He told me he had to adjust the lever and the magazine to get it to lock. Maybe he damaged the magazine and that why? Could that cause the jam. His exact words are: yes the feeding and holding of the magazine was ok but there seems to be worn out bolt which starts to jam as soon it gets to much pressure from the magazine to the bolt carrier and bolt head.

Got back from the gunsmith he showed me that the lever is wobbly and that when you put pressure on it it hits the top of the barrel which jams it. He says the whole bolt needs to be replaced but it doesnt jam with 2 bullets or less. I looked at the magazine went i got home and it looked like one of the bullet lips was high. This could cause it to press against the bolt with more than 2 bullets couldnt it?
