Snow Camo
Just curious what some of you guys think about wearing snow Camo in the late season to hunt big game, instead of regular Camo?

I love my fuzzy onezie snow camo. Helly zip up underneath and away we go.
Soon as the snow flies, I switch.
I think it doesn't make you invisible, but mine blends in well to a lot of foliage.

Snow Camo just doesn’t seem very popular, and I got a random thought of, well what colour is a whitetail flag when they flee...

We use the military snow cammo cover-ups, with a few stripes of shoe polish applied here and there it's very effective. its also a nice lightweight suit that comes off easily to stash in the backpack.

Very effective for which critters though... I will say, it does seem to be effective on predators.

I use snow camo for big game and varmint hunting, I believe it helps. I wear a blaze orange hat walking to and from the stand.

I typically wear my fleece winter MOBU jacket over my camp coat with Realtree Hardwoods brown insulated pants. Good combo against the Bush line along a field edge or in the timber

I think it depends where you hunt. In the thick stuff there is always enough grey, green, and brown around that I doubt the snow camo works a whole lot better than regular camo. Heck, I'm not even sure regular camo works that much better than plaid.

Wow a guys is not out there doing a square dance or waving in a plain. Snow camo works I use it a lot especially when I'm predator hunting. Plus my stuff is very warm compared to what I wear in October.

When me and my buddy hunt yotes I wear snow camo and he wears what he calls rock camo (all black😔😂 sound, movement and wind direction are very important but the snow camo definitely helps breakup movement. I also find a decoy takes attention away from us. If I need to change position, when one is coming in I only move if the yote is moving. When the animal is still it's important to also remain still until there Mobile again. I Shotguned my first yote this year at 8 yards and my second at 30yards.

I wear Predator Stealth fleece jacket and pants in "fall grey". You definitely have to layer up with this though. If you want warmer parka style pieces, the Yukon Gear stuff at Canadian Tire seems decent for the price.
It always makes me shake my head when I see how little of the camo at the stores like WSS or Cabelas is in winter patterns. Apparently there's a whole lotta guys wearing green camo to hunt in winter conditions in Alberta.

Snow camo works in the snow better than regular camo works in the fall. Too many colors in the fall for a camo pattern to be truly effective. Most of the time you just look like a dark blob standing amongst yellow, green, red leaves. At least with white camo there is snow on the ground, and on tree limbs to help break it up. All depends where you are hunting too, I have yet to see a camo with yellow in it for canola or changing leaves, or maybe blue or gray if you are sitting in a tree stand. possibilities are endless I guess

I bought a reversible fall/winter set of cammo from Cabela's a couple years back. I watched their website for a few weeks in the later fall (Sept/Oct) and it finally appeared so I ran into the big city and bought some).
If memory servers me, it's "Zonz Woodland"
This is the jacket's winter side:
https://www.google.ca/search?q=Zonz+...X2MNywLBqVe5M:
This is the fall side:
https://www.google.ca/search?q=Zonz+...PKXPIFnJ4FsKM:
If you look to the right of the winter image you'll see 8 smaller images, bottom row, second from right is the pants (well, overalls) that go with it.
Last year I used the fall side. This year it snowed overnight on the 31st and I woke up to white so used the winter side. I'm happy with it.

I had snow camo and stopped using it for big game. Not that it didn't work but I am often careless while gutting and skinning and stained it with blood. My regular camo hasn't held me back in the snow and if it stains it just blends in.

When I need it, this is what I use. German military issue snow camo poncho. No need to spend more money on additional snow camo clothing when I can just throw this on. Available online....

I have these reversible bibs and the matching parka:
https://www.rockyboots.com/rocky-men...0865_color=APS
I have no idea if it is proven to be any better or not than regular camo, but I figure it can't hurt and I like wearing it in the late season.
I also shake my head at how hard it is to find a ground blind in snow camo.

Snow Camo
I went to Canadian Tire and picked up some Huntshield brand snow camo parka and snow pants, luckily they were on sale, hoping they hold up for a while.

I had one of those German ponchos years ago, it was cotton and got wet and then froze all the time when I used it. I use white and brown wool clothing now.

Guess it can do that, I never had any issues with it and I bought it for around $15-20, so no complaints here.
