Default 2017 NHL playoffs

Regular season is done.

Time for the new season.

Nice to see most Canadian teams are represented this year.

Even the Leafs are making an appearance.

Ought to be an interesting first round.

I think Washington will take home the big trophy this year.

Go Oilers Go!

My first round predictions:

Anaheim beats Calgary
Edmonton beats San Jose
Chicago beats Nashville
Minnesota beats St. Louis

Washington beats Toronto
Boston beats Ottawa
Pittsburgh beats Columbus
New York beats Montreal

Really great to see that 5 of 7 Canadian Teams are in this year, but I just don't think they are going far. I hope I am wrong and a Canadian team wins (especially the Flames, and excluding the oilers).

I hope Washington wins, it would be nice for Ovechkin to get a cup.

Sharks will beat the oilers, ducks will beat the flames. The flames have had a tough time against the ducks since 2004 or something.

West: Minnesota. Fantastic # Goals For/Goals Against. Disciplined defensive hockey team. This is the year for Minnesota. Now or Never.

The nice part about the playoffs is that no matter who you cheer for, you can be optimistic for a week or so.

Biggest upset would be Toronto over Washington.

Leafs mantra... "The Caps have lost WAY more playoff series than we have".

I'm curious to hear who you think would be the bigger upset? I could really see the other series going either way.

Yup. Worst team in the league last year dethroning the President's trophy team would be quite an upset.

If there is one sure bet in hockey it's that the Caps WILL collapse in the playoffs, not if, but when. But I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the SCF vs Chicago or maybe Anaheim.

I'd love to see the Great-8 ring that bell, he deserves it

Maybe Edmonton will have better luck than Montreal and Ottawa did tonight...

Most despicable player in the league.

I'm a huge leaf's fan. I am cheering for their success.

But.....

I'm also realistic.

I have Washington over Chicago for the cup.

1st round - Chi over Nash, St. Louis over Minnesota, Anaheim over Calgary, Oilers over Sharks.......Rangers over Canadians, Ottawa over Boston, Caps over Leafs and Pens over Columbus.

Cheers
