grim reaper slice through moose ribs with easy ..... moose went 20 yards.... mechanicals have come along way since they came out .... best is to watch some broadhead tests on utube of the ones your thinking of using and it should show you how well they will stand up.... some videos will favor one broadhead or another

I've killed 8 or 10 moose with tekan's and T3's, all one shot kills and no moose made it farther than 60-80yds tops. I once shot a moose through one lung with a slick trick, it was the only moose I've shot that needed a second arrow, and the last time I used slick tricks.

I got a passthru at 60yds on a moose using my old Mathews switchback. Of all the moose I shot only one I never got a passthru but that was a quartering shot from quite a ways and all that was sticking out was the nock.

I use Rage Hypodermics or any version of the 2 blade 2 inch.

This weekend at 12pm at Cabela's (North Store) come find out which of the following broadheads had the best penetration into ballistic gel that simulates an animals trunc and vitals area.

More info here

Use cut on impact broadheads like Montec,Helrazors,Copperheads,Muzzy's,Wasp's etc on elk and moose.
I have killed 20 or more of these and these are just over all more effective.
You get away with the odd marginal shot.
Modern day mechanicals are good, and way better than what we had 3 or 5 years ago.
Good shot placement likely more important than the broadhead.
