wow, what a pace. I'll never keep up! Then again, there's only 2 of us in the house now so the freezer fills quicker than I'd like it too! Last year I finished on the 21st of September.

Just realized, I didn't put an option for zero! Can a mod add that one?

Just under a dozen Moose
1/2 a dozen elk
1/2 dozen deer
4 black bears
1 wild boar
About a dozen yotes and a couple of badgers
Lots of chickens (ruffys)
Probably at least a 1000 prairie poodles (best way to practice)
Started in 1986 and did not connect with big game until around 1990.

I put in a lot of time, I pass up a lot of game, in hopes to find bigger. I've left both buck tags unfilled many seasons.... I'd rather shoot a few does than a small buck, and if I get a moose or elk, then the freezer's full anyway. And besides, two of my does I take each year are donated to a couple families not so well off.

2 mulie does and a forkhorn mulie buck, all in fall 07. Plenty of gophers, grouse and a rabbit, but only the 3 big game animals so far. As of May 7/08, 1 black bear as well.

1 Whitetail Buck in 03.
Mulie fork horn in 04.
Mulie 3 point in 05. That deer had bad genes for horn growth. He was 4 or 5 years old and weighed at least 275lbs. It was a pig! Shot him at the top edge of a deep coulee. Bastard rolled all the way to the bottom. Had to drag him almost straight up for close to 300 yards.
In 06 I was 8 yards away from a monster. He was standing in thick weeds that were about 3/4 of an inch wide and 5 feet tall. I couldn't get closer and couldn't ethically get a shot. That deer probably would have been between 185 and 200. I have a hard time guessing when there is extra stuff on the rack.
I can definitely say that I have been able to get way closer than I have ever thought possible. Before I started with a bow I would never try to get closer than 150 yards. If I made it that close I knew it was an easy shot and that was that.
I consider myself to be a much better hunter now because of the bow.

I think you'll find that CHS is often species specific. I have a serious case of CHS when dealing with coyotes. One of the few game animals I've not been able to harvest. Anyone care to guess which animal I need to get for my ABA small game award and the Master Bowhunter Award? Hint - it's not a P&Y young critter.

Love the bowzone antlerless tags, i'm at 16 deer(6 muley's, 10 whitetails) for 5 seasons (4 pope class bucks in there)...can't complain. Slowing down though, and more interest in guns so i won't be keeping that pace anymore. And a miss on a coyote with 4 other draw attempts busted.
