Default Jimsmith lake

Has anyone been fishing at Jimsmith lake outside of Cranbrook. My sister in law booked a big cabin there and we will be spending a week there mid august. Is it worth taking some fishing gear and buying a BC license.

Thanks

Jimsmith has not been good for a long time you mivht pick up a couple small bass.
You would be better off going to tie lake in Jaffray about 20 min from Cranbrook some nice large mouth there. If you dont mind a bit of a drive there is duck lake in Creston good bass lake good shore fishing at the out flow. But you must get a fishing permit from the CVWMA

I go there ice fishing and catch lots of perch. There are stocked rainbows and bass I've heard as well, although I've never got one. The perch are tiny but plentiful. They will bite almost anything it seems but shrimp is mainly what I used.
