Default Sibbald Lake - ice?

I was hoping to take the kids camping in a couple weeks and the canoe out on sibbald lake. Does anyone know if the ice is off yet?

Ice all gone. Water, quite low. No fish seen. Lake winterkills every year. Stocking in a few weeks time.

I believe there is also a population of wild Brook Trout in Sibbald that certainly do not winterkill every year... I'm assuming the Rainbows wouldn't die either.

You're talking about sibbald meadows pond not sibbald lake, sibbald lake doesn't have anything besides what's stocked. There are some brookies in sibbald meadows although not too many, I've only ever caught a couple although one was pretty good "14"

Aye, that is correct. Sibbald Meadows Pond is the one with Brookies, my mistake. Sibbald Lake is much smaller than the Pond, oddly enough.
