Default IIHF Womens World Championship Hockey

What an unbelievable game last night!! Down 2-0 against the US. We finally scored mid way through the third, then tied it up with 1:27 left. OT was scoreless. Extra shooters in the shootout and Jenn Wakefield dangles and roofs it over the goalie. Shannon Szabados makes a wicked save to win the game.

In Women's hockey, there is no body checking allowed, and they use no touch icing rules. This does not take away from the game. It was fast paced, exciting, technical, and just a thrill to watch.

Anyone else watching? I am pretty pleased with the amount of coverage they are getting now.

One of the times of the year I wished I had tv. Great hockey at that tourney.

I watched the first period and then I got sidetracked. I'll pay attention during the round robin portion of the tourny.

Entertaining game to watch, it really seemed our girls were a step behind there for a while, nerves maybe? Glad to see they caught up, and there were indeed some beauty goals in the shootout. That Jayna Hefford can really crank a puck...looking forward to the rest of the games, but we all know who is going to be in the gold medal game...

They were in the zone last night with a 13-0 hammering of the Swiss. 76 shots on goal, and they didn't let up at all. Good for them.
