Shale or Slate Slabs location

Just finished building my house west of Stony Plain and now its time to tackle yard and garden Thinking of putting in a small pond and rapids and some rock gardens and was wondering if anyone can direct me to any shale or slate outcoppings that you may have noted in your fishing our hunting travels Looking to pick up some thin slabs about 1 inch or two thick to border pond and gardens Anywhere within couple hours of stony plain would be good
