Default Nissan 25 HP value

I have a 25 HP Nissan 2 stroke outboard that I am in the process of replacing. I think that it is a 96. It runs great. What is it worth. I have tried to research a fair price to sell it for but I can't find many comparable motors.

$1300 - $1800 would be my guess pending on compression and condition

I'd say you are bang on. I'd agree.

The OP should look at placing it in Kijiji or whatever publication he likes at $1800 and leave some room for negotiating it down a few hundred.

Unfortunately Kijiji can be frustrating with all the clowns who have no intention of showing up never mind buying. Too many clowns with too much of their own time to waste they need to waste yours too.

Not sure what a 20+ year old outboard would sell for. Obviously not a fortune, but like they say, there's a sucker born everyday. Guess it depends if you really want to sell it or not?

Some of those vintage 2 stroke outboards are highly sought after. Johnson/Evinrude (OMC), Yamaha… Had a 1990 Yamaha 20hp I sold, had a bidding war when I listed it. Own a 35hp 1984 Johnson converted to Jet. Had a couple offers while out boating. They are terrible on fuel and loud, but still can't be beat for power to weight. Proper care will see them outlast the new 4 strokes, plus parts are dirt cheap.
