Small trout lakes with boat launch near YYC

Hi gents,

I am looking for a small trout lake to take the drift boat out on to get the GF some practice casting and maybe even get her into some fish. Was thinking maybe Beaver lake by Sundre but was trying to think of somewhere closer to the city (Calgary)....any ideas? Winchell maybe?

I just want to find a good spot with easy access where there isnt a chance to get caught in some bad weather/rough water.

How about right in Calgary? Glenmore reservoir.... your boat isn't motorized so legal. It's open now. Not exactly a trout lake, but..... Nice views.

Dickson trout pond by Glennifer lake doesn't get too windy

Gap lake by Canmore is good and you could hit the trout pond on your way back down 1a

There is a City of Calgary launch on the south side of the lake. Its used mostly for the Glenmore sailing school. It's off of 90 ave SW (turn north on 24st). I THINK there is also a ramp by Heritage Park. They keep a bunch of sailboats there too, so must be a ramp as well.

Cool! I knew there was a launch there but wasnt sure if it was for sailing club use only. Thanks for the info dude!
