You'll have to know which grade, length of barrel, type of choke, caliber, chamber length, year of manufacture, and then the approximate % rating of condition (NRA)

Manufacture dates: armscollectors.com/sn/windates.htm

And being that it likely is a 12 ga, with a fixed choke, don't expect too, much value. ( there are exceptions)
Now if it's a 20, 16, or has other unique features it may bring some good coin, if it's in good condition, and such.

Field grades in decent shape can be had as cheap as $150 up.
I've seen trap models on averag about $600 up.
Mine has a factoy Simmons rib and Ctts compnsator with fairly nice forend but a field brade stock ( replacement)
it would likely go for about $400 - $500.

This is not no fancy trap and skeet remake , this is an old 12 gauge , 28 in barrel , no rib , one of the old oridginals , blueing mostly gone , full choke , made in New Haven , about 130 years old ,so of course its been used , but its still fine to shoot with yet , but not steel shot.
Was thinking maybe a collector may be interested , cant be that many left in working condition , although they never wear out , so hard to say, probably the best shotgun ever made.
The last time i used it on ducks was when they brought in steel shot , and l never missed with this gun , even folded ducks that were out of range , or so l thought.
Would still be using it if lead was still allowed in the field.
Before steel came out was told $1,400 bucks at frenchys when they were on 9th ave S.E , which is now Wholesale sports.

Bud I saw one on Bashaw Sports website this past winter.
I don't think it was more than $225.
For about $75 you can get the full choke bored out to modified, and you're goodtogo for steel.
I'd keep it myself, if I were you....

If it was truly an original it would be a model 1912, I have my grandfathers Winchester model 1912, 12 gauge, 30" barrel with the last patent date on it 1913. I'm not sure when Winchester dropped the "19" and they became just the model 12.
But considering these shotguns were manufactured from 1912 - 1963, at the best your gun could be 96 years old.
I had the shotgun appraised a few years back and it was $450-$500.

Plug the serial number into that link I gave you and quite surmising on the date of manufacture.
Then an accurate assesment of the shotguns net worth can be made.

Oh ya a few pictures would help too.
