Default Missing tail

Will I get docked at auction for a missing tail on a coyote? I have never sent one in without a tail before. I have a coyote with a tail that is so matted and full of burrs that I'm thinking of cutting it off.

I would not worry to much about the tail. Leave it on if the tail is bad but the rest of the coyote is good they will bury it in the bulk and not show it as a sample.

I had a friend send one in without a tail and it didn't make a difference.

Default spare tails

I have a farmer near here who shoots coyotes on sight and saves me bodies to salvage fur. some are so shot up not worth skinning as he uses whatever rifle is at hand so sometimes I just salvage tail. His 7mm makes a mess of running coyotes. Always have a dozen spare tails on hand if you need one.
