Are you using a Redding shell holder as well?

No I am not . Maybe that could be my issue. Though all shell holder brands where interchangeable with dies brands. I have the lee shell holder set I bought this past summer when I started loading.

Reddington?

Are the bullets seated off of the lands with your die maxed out? How did you come up with the COL that you are trying to achieve?

I was just looking at some of the factory ammo I still have and when I measured it with the calipers it was shorter . Just curious why I can't I seat it a bit deeper . The dummy round I made cycles in the gun.

If the dummy round cycles in the gun, there is a good chance that the bullet is seated off of the lands. If the bullet is seated off of the lands by even .010", then you may be better off not seating the bullets any deeper.

You might have better luck finding a Redding shellholder.

Got the Redding shellholder & I am still having issues seating the bullet deeper. Should I try a different brand of dies ?

Are you using a 243 wssm die or 243 win seating die.

If your reloads cycle in the gun and function with the magazine you may be just wasting your time trying to seat deeper. You need to shoot some groups and see what you have.. OAL is a variable thing , if your seating a different bullet then the factory load , ogive and profile are likley already different . The factory OAL is kinda meaningless at this point.

Default 243 wssm

I had issues with by 243 wssm as well. I had to trim the cases shorter as well. I also had try a number of things also. One of them was literally jamming the empty into the sizing die further than it was meant to, so much so that I was concerned that the rim would break off when pulling out the case But it worked. I was using RCBS dies.
Its a great caliber.
