Default Schrader Creek

Guess I am headed up here to a cabin on Saturday while the wife visits some family. I am told if I come I can go fishing. I know about the lakes in the area have fished them lots. However I think I am looking to do some river and creek fishing. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Red marker is place we are headed. Yellow indicates questionable areas. Ant info you guys have would be great on these spots or others in the area for streams.

Thanks Guys

The Red Deer river has brown trout in the area - although I have not fished it myself. One of the better bets, that I know of in the area, is the Raven. Can be a tricky creek to fish - lots of brush - but holds some very nice browns. It is on the south side of the Highway from Innisfail to Caroline (north of where you are). Anywhere in the neighborhood of where Hwy 22 crosses it (and further upstream as well) can be good. Stauffer creek (a little further north) is one of the best known spring creeks in the province. Has browns, and brookies in the higher stretches.
I think Shrader also has browns in it, so you might want to check that out as well.
Good luck.

Default All mapped out for today

Well I have got my game plan together. Map all done up and packing the SUV. Wife is going to visit for the afternoon I will fish. End the day with a BBQ and a few drinks then some fireworks @ the cabin.

I have never been to this creek so I may be wasting my time but its new water and just exploring it will be good.

This section familiar to anyone?
