Default Gsg 1911-22

I have pistols in several calibers,
BY FAR the most cost effective training tool is my GSG 1911-22.
The savings in ammo costs will pay for the GSG pistol VERY quickly,
and continued use and savings can be used to pay for a larger caliber.

If you try to learn to shoot pistols using anything but a 22LR,
I predict you will develop a flinch, that will be a lot harder to eliminate than acquire.

IMHE, the ZRTS kit is a worthwhile upgrade.

Good Luck, YMMV.

I meant to say in my earlier post the 22\45 has similar dimensions to a 1911.

Why is that Bob? I too have a S&W 22-A. I bought it from a friend here on AO. After he sold it to me, he seemed to miss it, so he went out and bought another. But this time, he bought a fancier one and apparently it wouldn't compare in accuracy to the one that he sold me. I'm very happy with mine, it really likes the Federal Gold Match ammo. Never jams or misfires, I do like it.

My other is a CZ75 in 9mm. Another great pistol. For me anyways.

Best: Glock 17 9mm. Unreal reliability. Accurate and cheap ammo

Really like my HK45, next would be Buckmark.

Tt33 is worst, I got a bad one that will not group. Paid less than $200 so not a huge loss.
