There is nothing wrong with a SKS. They are a battle rifle designed at the end of ww2, that may have had some prototype versions used in combat depending on what you read. Never designed for optics, probably only required to hold 5 moa to be considered accurate for there purpose. Not a target rifle. To expect great accuracy out of one is a stretch. It was designed to be a reliable battle rifle.

Most milsurp rifles were not required to have moa capabilities. I've read that a Lee Enfield no4 that was used for sniper use was required to hold 4 moa or better. M1 Garand service limits were 5 moa or better at 100. Many of these old milsurp rifles with military ammo were not tight grouping.

I shoot and collect milsurp rifles, with handloads many of them can shoot very well. Biggest limit for me is the sights for some of these, makes it harder to get good accuracy.
