Default 100 gr or 125 gr broadheads

I have been noticing quite a few people are using 125 gr broad heads. I have always used 100 gr and never even thought of switching.

My arrow seems to fly good with 100 grains. I'm just wondering if people are using 125 gr to compensate for FOC or does that not effect it at all.

Any pros and cons of shooting 125's opposed to 100's?

Thanks for any tips!

Having 125grs might or might not make any difference with your set up. The only way to know is to try it. Shoot groups at distances. Does it make any difference? If not, shooting the 125 gr heads will still give you more ooomph.

High FOC is always good for arrow flight, penetration, KE, Moementum etc etc etc, there have been many discussions on here about that. I would add weight to the insert rather than the head because it will give you more choice in broadheads and be more readily available.

Excellent point...

Its weird now days that a lot of archery Distributors carry minimal 125gr heads because the big sales are in 100's...generally the 125gr are a wider cut...great for FOC and penertration etc...

Speed between the 100's and 125Gr is minimal also...
