Default Target/3d bow

I have been bow hunting for several years and have had just about every brand when it comes to bow hunting but I am considering a dedicated target bow.

I have a Bowtech and Hoyt currently but I am not brand loyal.

Any suggestions on bows to look at or things in general to look at in a target bow

FYI I currently shoot a 28 inch draw at 60 lbs on my hunting bows

Thanks

I picked up an Insanity CPXL in target colours....really like it, 60lbs. Going to use it for indoor this year for sure, FITA, and maybe outdoor.

Find something that has a long ATA (mine is 42), and something with at least a 7 inch or more brace height. A solid back wall, with a low poundage, that still zips arrows. Then tune, and practice.

I'm getting 303fps outta mine target bow @ 63lbs....Athens Exceed

Lefty,

Are those the factory strings?. I have been impressed with the life of the strings on my new Bowtech.

Yes when that picture was taken, I have since put a custom set on from 60x Custom Strings out of the states. I am REALLY impressed with those.

Here is the string I had made, two colours with black "pin striping" silver and orange. 300-400 shots through it (probably more) and one cable needed half a twist to tune....that's it! the peep hasn't moved or twisted once.

With your draw length you should give apa's king cobra a try.

Lefty how did you find the length of the strings and cables were. I had 2 sets for different bows that were excessively long. Like so long I had to twist it to the point I couldn't get the cord from my Ripcord rest in between the fibres

The length for the strings/cables was written on a sticker on the bow, which I provided when they were ordered. When the old strings and cables were removed we measured the lengths and also the approximate number of twists in the strings and cables and mimicked that when put the new ones on.

Not sure they have been released yet...look nice, the three position draw stop is a good idea. They have a "virtual" shoot through riser which was designed that way to avoid paying royalties on a patent. I think it will be a great target bow. Check archery talk there must be more info there.
