Default Coyotes and Weather Conditions

I've been researching the weather vs coyote movement and I'm not having much luck in finding info about cold weather climates such as what we have here in Alberta. Most of what I've found is for southern areas down in the US. Knowing that yotes will lay low when it's hot out doesn't do much good for what happens during the Alberta winter.....lol. This is probably old hat for you experienced fellas but I was wondering if you'd care to share your observations.

I currently have 3 bait sites out and since November 10th they've been hit every night. Yesterday the trees were all frosted up and the wind picked up during the night. Today I found that not one site had been visited. It doesn't matter either way, I'm just curious as to what type of weather to look forward to and what type of weather (other than storms) that I can expect little to no snaring success. Thanks.

The colder it is, the more the coyotes will be up and mousing/hunting/trail traveling.

Been hunting all week, saw the same two coyotes every evening except yesterday when it was warm. I think their winter coat makes it somewhat uncomfortable to move around in the heat, like moose. >-5c in winter and I rarely see them when hunting or ice fishing. high humidity would be a deterrent as well, they would have a hard time staying warm once wet.

exactly , that is why calling is so much more effective when temps are real cold . High winds will lay em low for a while , but cold gets em on their feet .
