Default Whitecourt stream fishing

I'm kinda new to fly fishing, lived in whitecourt for while now so I know my way around a bit, so far in my exploring the windfall river is the only good creek I've come across catching grayling. I was thinking of trying the little smokey next and the freeman was wondering if any one could help me out on places to try for trout not so much for greylng thanks alot

Hey, I've caught lots of small grayling from 4-14" on the Sakwatamau River just north west of town. Usually on small, general, dry flies like elk hair caddis patterns. I've never caught trout there but its definitely a good spot to hone your fly fishing skills.

Went up to WCT this weekend and tried Windfall after the rainstorm which left the flow muddy at best. Talked to some folks camping near the bridge who have spin casted Panther Martins which good success. One guy even landed a stray Walleye. Also tried a few creek mouths on the Athabasca without luck. Next time I will try Freeman, Old Man and Chickadee.

Freeman is a great little river. Just have to get away from the bridges a bit. A ton of access too.

I've caught many athabows in Windfall, and the AthaB as well.
