Default Fishing stores in Calgary

Anybody know some good fishing stores in Calgary? Planning to fish with my old man this summer and will be my first time doing this seriously. As much as I could use his gear I want my own. Any suggestions? I know there's a Bass Pro near me that I can check out. Somebody suggested The Fishin' Hole to me and that seems pretty good and will drop by tomorrow to check it out.

Ya check out The Fishin Hole near Sunridge. Lots of gear and good service. Wholesale Sports is good too.

I always find that in Edmonton the most knowledgeable salespeople are at the fishinghole. They are basically professional fishermen not just retail workers. Tell them what you're going after in terms of species and lake/river etc. and they will set you up based on your needs.

Wholesale sports and cabelas are also worth a look.

Assuming you are just looking for spinning gear? (Not fly)

The Fishin Hole.

Hands down the best customer service and most knowledgeable staff, it's not even close.

They also have the best inventory of the gear you'll actually need for fishing in AB or your trips to the coast.

Their prices are as good or better on most things too.

Thanks for the answers everybody. Will definitely check out The Fishin' Hole. Will also keep Wholesale Sports and Cabela's in mind.

Depends on budget too, Canadian Tire has some rod/reel combos that are good deals if you aren't looking to break the bank.

For more specific info and professional service, the Fishing Hole hands down is the best in town then I would go with Wholesale Sports.
