Default What's my boat worth ?

1979 15.5 ft deep V fiberglass Crestliner. 115 HP merc. Ski tow bar in the center of the boat. Soft top roof and windows . Easy loader trailer, new tires, bearings repacked. In good condition as it was always stored in a boat house or garage. Going to replace the battery and rework the water pump before selling.

Thinking about selling and wondering approx what it's worth and what the asking price should be.

38 years old ... Even in very good shape, I would say 2k to 3k.

This would be the right time to sell being the start of the season.

Have a look at Kijijji and some other boat sale sites.

Ya, I was thinking asking price should be $4 K. as I'm sinking in about $ 1 K before selling. Tires, battery, water pump and the products for a good cleaning inside and out. Someone will get a great boat for tubing and water skiing as well as fishing for about 1/4 the cost or less than a new boat.

No use for it anymore as a fishing buddy has a 19ft. bass style fishing boat , the kids don't tube anymore and i'm too old for water sports now. Was gonna sell it with the cottage but a few grand more in the pocket is better.

Open bow? Sounds like a sweet entry level boat Kim. I doubt you will have trouble selling it.

Darn timing, I need to replace two vehicles first but have been thinking about getting into such a boat one day.

Nada.com lets you build your boat per component and gives a high and low used value. In U.S. funds but its a decent tool to gauge value.

My opinion.. it's 38 years old.. don't put another dime in it.. clean it up nice. Put it up for sale for 3k, and the first person that offers you 2k bought a boat.

If the motor is in good running shape thats worth 2 to 3 k alone. The boat itself isn't worth much I would have to assume. I think 3 or 4 k is a fair asking price. I would ask closer to 3 k if you want a quick sale though. Spring is definately the time to sell though. As the summer goes on the price would probably have to come down as people start selling their boats the newer ones will start coming down in price. Just my 2 cents

Look in kijji for a boat just like yours and see what they are asking.
Then call them back in a few weeks and see what it sold for .
Some boats with a closed bow and are 2 stroke might only go $1500-$2000.
Seems a little low. Almost the same price of a 12 foot row boat with a 9.9 on it .

Get it in good working condition and clean it rite up and ask a good dollar for a good boat. Or price it accordingly. You should be able to stand proud beside your nice boat and get a fair price. Sell a boat that needs a bunch of work to some young father with no mechanical skills without telling the poor bugger is bad for your health. Stick to your price for a good boat. Soone or later it will sell. 4 grand in good condition. Get it fixed and keep records. Just my opinion.

Tough one, I have seen 1999 campions with 115 for 4000-5000.
This is the worst year I have seen for small boat prices.
I sold my 225 hp Arriva with wake tower and a ton of accessories 3 years ago for $5000
