Default Mulie rut

Anyone notice if the Mulies are with the does yet? Out last week and only saw the little guys with does, the bigger ones were still wandering on their own.

South of Calgary, around Clairsholme they are still just getting in gear with the big boys still alone. Saw a few spikes in with the does. There were a couple large mulies out early putting on some distance.

Thumbs up In rut

Freind of mine shot a nice 5x4 and the left side of ti was bruised severly!! It took an awfull beating by something. Im assuming it was another buck. Seen a huge one today running after does as fast as it could sprint. But they dont stink to bad yet. East of Stettler.

I agree, i've run in to some pretty big herds (all does and fawns) no bucks with them yet.

On Saturday, I seen a mulie buck crossing a field with his nose to the ground, I was out yesterday and seen 2 mulie bucks, each with a group of 4 does and both had swollen necks.

Default There Rutting!

Watched one this morning chasing a doe across the field. Muleys always seem to rut a little earlier than the WT's.

I've never rattled one, but I've never had one turn down a couple of grunts on the pipe. I've also seen the bigger does become very aggressive when given a couple grunts.

So far this year it's been all whitetails, but that can change any day now.

Spent the weekend in the Wainwright area after mulies. Little guys were chasing, but the big boys hadn't shown yet.
