PAL - time frame question
Hey,
So I have received a call from the RC's, to conduct a phone interview, and so have my references, so all of that has been completed.
Does anyone know approximately how long it takes to receive your PAL after these have been conducted?
Thanks.

Mine took exactly 45 days from the day that I mailed it (regular Canada Post) until the day it arrived back in my mailbox. For most people 45 - 60 days is about average.

Do they do these interviews with all applicants or is it random? I sent mine in two weeks ago, any idea how long it takes them to get around to you?

They usually let 21-28 days go by before contacting anyone for interviews, then send it to your provincial CFO, then it's a couple of weeks from there. Just got my restricted and it was 71 days from them receiving it in the mail to me getting my license in the mail

Is the interviews just for applications or do they now call for renewals as well?

So what im getting here is, from getting an interview, as well as having your references getting an interview, its about 2-3 weeks away from being in my mailbox at home?

If you've been waiting since feb chances are one of your interviews was not contacted, so they then send a letter, giving them 30 days. I'd give them a call before it just gets cancelled.

Nope they say its at the CFO in alberta and just waiting for final approval.
They said interviews were not needed and everything is done on the RCMP side in Nova Scotia.

warms my heart to see so many people getting their RPAL's. Lot's of my friends that never had an interest in guns are getting theirs now. Wonder just how much of an increase there actually is? Anecdotally, it sure seems like a lot more people are getting interested in shooting lately. Definitely a good thing.

Sad thing is, the more people are getting into it, and this just happens to be the slowest time and lowest efficient quarter for the CFP in the past 3 years.
Hopefully with a increase in numbers, we might get a bit better service...

I just got my RPAL,my process went like this. Once you and your references have completed the interviews you can check online if you have been approved. If you are approved they will print and send out your licence, this is done on Fridays. Your licence should arrive within a week.
