Default Another Canadian Tire selling firearms

The Franklin NE Calgary store is advertising that they are selling non-restricted guns, so I dropped in to see what they had this afternoon on my way home. Not much of a selection, but nice to see.

That's great. On an unrelated note, I was at the Shawnessy CT and they have a sign looking for a PAL holder to work part time

One of 2 here in Red Deer has a decent gun section for a Canadian Tire and while I haven't been there a buddy of mine told me the Leduc Cdn Tire has a bigger gun selection than Wolverine Guns & Tackle in town here. They were also the cheapest in town for Federal blue box 308 the other night when I was looking. Never bad to have more selection!

Canadian tire cold lake has a huge selection, something like 500 is what I've heard. Savage to sako's and everything in between. Prices are about 200$ over cabelas though. Sometimes they red tag a few, and sales price are very good. Grab yourself an options CT credit card, earn 10x CT money on every purchase. Good deal. I've bought two rifles so far just using ct money.

Yeah, Leduc's Canadian Tire definitely stands out. The manager of the hunting section of the Windermere Canadian Tire is also working hard to differentiate themselves too. Broad selection, willingness to bring stuff in, interest in price matching, etc. Definitely worth looking at.

CT on 130th Ave in SE Calgary is renovating and I think they are going to have a firearm aisle pretty soon as well.

The new south common CT has a pretty big selection also. Not to mention the store is two floors! It's huge.

The new location in Cochrane has about 60-70 on display. Supposed to be installing more display racks as well

Kinda figure that out about 2 months back when they revamped the area. I noticed chains behind the glass and knew that they were planning to get guns in. The more guns store there is the more people will buy and the more guns in legal gun owners hands will hopefully make it harder for the higher ups to ban them... maybe....

Even the small CT store in Castlegar BC has a selection (though small) of rifles and shotguns now.

It's definitely a growing trend for CT.

Canadian Tire in St Paul is starting to get quite an assortment of firearms.
Only thing there is no service at the firearm counter
You would think that at this time of year they would be crawling with staff in the hunting department. NOT!!!!!
I usually stop there about 3 times a week and get a kick of customers looking and not a staff member around.
I'm sure Warehouse Sports is smiling in St Paul

Canadian tire in rocky Mountain house is great for guns and ammo selection along with high end scopes. I believe the owner is into long range shooting and he's also hired someone who's knowledgeable to come by every couple days to keep track of stock

Wainwright CT is selling guns also now, haven't really looked at them to much it is just one aisle. Hopefully then can price them right and compete, if it is anything like what they charge for ammunition they won't have to worry about me purchasing any from there.

I have to ask why you would think it will be any different from any other store?

CT in Prince Albert SK sold guns like 20 years ago. Now they are selling them again. Maybe things are changing for the better.

Edit. Woops old thread.

I don't remember a Krappy tire that didn't have guns before the FAC's and stuff appeared, they used to be in their catalogues. Franklin Park had them in about 87 or 88 still. I bought a Ruger77 7mag in that store back then. wasn't long after that, the Southland store was the only one left with guns, and they kept them all the way thru.

I don't know if the High River store ever sells anything, some of their guns are seriously over priced!

I love Canadian tire with guns and decent fishing isles. now I can go look at guns and ammo before I look at cat food and motor oil. Best thing Canadian tire has ever done.

I went and checked out the Deerfoot mall CT and found the gun prices about 15% above Cabelas right next door. Hope they eventually get competitive.
