Default Ruger 10/22 extended mags.

Does anyone know where you can buy a Ruger BX25 mag in Calgary, I bought a butler creek 25 round mag with the steel lips, I had to sand the top down to even get my bolt to cycle in my SR22 and every 5 rounds or so it pops the bullet up too quick and it bends the bullet against the top of the receiver and causes the gun to jam. I was thinking about trying the official ruger extended mags to see if these fit any better, I just cant find them anywhere I looked at wholesale and Bass Pro and no surprise that no one knows what I am talking about. Has anyone got any idea where I can buy them?

Thanks

No, they aren't... not all... Rimfire. I believe that SPECIFIC magazine is illegal because it also fits in the 10/22 pistol... more than 10 rounds in a pistol, oops.

Couldn't be more wrong,
There is no limit on rimfire rifle mags... there IS however a limit on centerfire,

OP you wont find Ruger BX25 mags in Canada because Ruger avertised the mag for the Ruger Charger which is restricted(OAL) so therefor goverment says they are illiegal.

Here is some more info

not illegal. Just stupid! You would have to have them pinned to 10 as they are advertised as a pistol mag also. No point in having a 10 round bannana hanging out yer gun. BC steel lips can be made to work great, as you found out with a file. I have 4 and 2 needed filing two are great.

Probably wont help you much, I but I prefer the ruger 10 round mags anyway. I have the 25 round butler creek mags as well, but they're just a PITA. I find the factory ones feed way better. *shrug*

Factory works great. I really wanted a factory 25 rounder but the whole pistol mag thing screwed that up. I glued a magpul mag bottom onto my 10 round Ruger one for my SR. Looks cool and is real easy to pull out and put in now.

I remember doing some reading on this a while back, the general consenus was that the Butler Creek hi capacity magazines were the most reliable aftermarket mags for the 10/22

Yep,
Hard to beat the butler creek 25 round steel lips mags!!

Keep in mind any 22 LR is somewhat ammo sensitive, so you might have to try a few different brands of ammo to find one that feeds reliably.

CCI Mini Mag HP is usually a safe bet.

I'm ordering a couple Promag 9-22 mags from hical, http://www.promagindustries.com/product-p/aa922-a1.htm. Seems about the only decent looking 25 rounder that is available. Just hope that it is reliable. I have a 25 round BC steel lips and have had no issues in my SR22.
