I shot a coyote with a 55gr FBHP handload about 3 years ago out of my 22-250. It was approx 100yds away and I shot it broad side. Left a pencil sized exit hole.
That was the only one I ever shot with them. I sold the rifle shortly after that.
I picked up 250 of the 70gr .243 to try in my 243AI

Strange. Are you concerned about inadequate penetration? Perhaps weight retention is the issue? Or maybe you might be faced with a charging gopher? Meat loss maybe? You might have to switch to a TSX, or better yet, a TTSX.

I run 55gn Varmaggedon's in .243 at a max load. If I hit a soft spot on the coyote, it leaves a small entrance and no exit. I hit anything hard (i.e bone) things get ugly in a hurry.

If fur friendly is priority #1, I'd look for something that holds together better.
