In Medicine Hat they had a rifle I was interested in. They were over 20% more than Flies Etc and they didn't care. I don't see it changing any time soon. However if you watch, sometimes they are priced lower.

Southland will match in city---only if the competing store has on hand stock though. They will call and check, to make sure the other store has the on hand stock at that price.

Back in the 60's Canadian Tire carried lots of guns........you shouldn't be able to call yourself "Canadian" if you don't.............Harold

Yep! Read all that stuff! I am just very glad that Canadian Tire got back into guns and ammo. I do not think that can be bad. I shop at Canadian Tire for much more than guns and ammo. I have not bought a firearm from the Tire in Years. They would have to make a statement saying they are anti guns and anti hunting and anti shooting and they would have to close down their gun departments because of their stand before I would boycott them. As far as sportcheck goes? If they have running shoes at a good price I will continue to shop there as well.

From what I've seen CT doesn't show the firearms online. Or are they?

Wetaskiwan CT has a super selection too. A few $5000 weatherby machines.
let these Ct people know that your in approval.
Try not to flame the person behind the counter. I would have loved to wirk behind the gun counter as a younger man. Represent the sport with your actions.

The CT outdoor store up here is huge !
They carry everything from Chiappas and Savages to Berretas and Faustis , full compliment of optics , hand loading gear and everything in between.
Every counter guy there IIRC is a member of the local gun club as well and there are some of them that are members here .

The last gun I bought before the registry waste of money came out was from our local CT in Brandon. After years they're back selling guns but not real competitive price wise on guns or ammo, Example I priced out 38 S&W they wanted $75 a box I got it on line for $41 shipping and taxes included1 They wanted basically double.
