Default Flat Creek report.

Went out to Flat (Trap) Creek out by Longview this past week for the first time. Water appeared quite low, but very clear. Fished from Hwy 22 upstream and caught my first cutthroat on a fly in one of the first pools up from the old bridge. Continued fishing upstream over the next 4 hours, going 1.5 km or so and had no action at all. Not even fish rising, despite a surface hatch going on. It made me wonder if the water levels were too low for fish to be further upstream? I did see some whitefish in a pool further up, but couldn't see any trout even from a high bank looking into the clear pools.

Thought I would put it up here for the benefit of others too. Still had a great night. First cuttie on a dry fly was 11"...
