Default hot barrel throw off the accuracy ?

maybe my last post was too complicated -

Wondering what the would be the deviation of a hot barrel vs cold ?

It will change POI, how much is dependant of the firearm.

Even more so if barrel is not free floated. On my .222 when it gets real hot it start to shoot about 3/4 inch higher. Then its time to grab a different rifle while that one cools.

It depends greatly on the barrel, and the bedding. I have a couple of heavy barreled, fully floated target rifles that can get quite warm, with no noticable change in POI. On the other hand, I have seen non floated sporting rifles, where the point of impact changes significantly as the barrel heats up.
