Default Sako A7 Stock

Had a disappointing experience with my Sako A7 300WSM. Was out hunting Easter eggs with it on the weekend (Actually just target shooting, we used small calibers to hunt Easter eggs!). Anyways, I had a small bi-pod mounted to the stud on the front of the stock. I was not using the bi-pod at this point. It was in the folded position. On about the 4th shot with the rifle, the bi-pod fell to the ground. A quick inspection of the bi-pod showed that the stud was attached to the bi-pod and had broken right out of the rifle, leaving about a one inch hole in the stock.

Firstly, beware, as the stock of the A7 is not built to handle the stress of a bi-pod. It seems that others I found online have had a similar experience.

Secondly, does anyone know were I can purchase a new A7 stock that is pre-bedded? Not sure whether they are going to warranty it as it seems others have had difficulty getting Beretta to honour the warranty on the stock.

Was happy with the gun till this... perhaps it will only be better with a new stock. Any help is appreciated.

Contact Stoeger Canada, I'm sure they will take care of you.

MacMillan is now making stocks for the Sako A7 rifles....I'd go with that unless Stoeger thru Sako warranties the repair with a new one for free.

pretty common on the A7 and T3 Lite rifles in a magnum caliber. They should replace it no problem.

Default sako a7

also have a sako with a problem. it leaves a scar on the brass
just back of the shoulder. the salesman claims normal wear and tear.
maybe a gunsmith on the forum could weigh in on this.
have been using rifles a long time and none of my other ones do this

you have a chambering defect for one reason or another from the factory;which is common in mass produced rifles.this can be fixed by setting the barrel back and rechambering but if the gun shoots to your expectations and you can live with the marks, its ok as is.
